The Rose & Her Steed.

The Black Cowgirl. The pinnacle of Black pride, grace, and freedom. The reclamation of a legacy misremembered by the world, but rarely forgotten in Black culture.

Horses have been healing my brothers and sisters, both individually and as a community, especially for folks who love and embrace horses on their own, such as Brittany Pollard, who so graciously allowed us into her world for a bit as we showcase a beautiful bond between black people and horses. Horses are known to reflect their owners’ emotions, enforcing the understanding that your healing is also theirs. Horses encourage our people to live and love from our souls. Building that relationship and trust with such a beautiful, powerful creature fosters a renewed sense of self-mastery, personal power, and purpose.

Brittany, we thank you for allowing us into your home and letting us experience a piece of your being, as well as your horse, Rose. Thank you so much for showing the world the beauty in such a bond. You are an incredible individual, and I hope you receive nothing but incredibly phenomenal things in this lifetime for both you and yours.
