Track and Field, the sport in which women have made history when it comes to breaking records, bringing culture to the forefront, and demanding the world’s attention all at the same time. This shoot not only pays tribute to Sha’Carri Richardson, Lydia de Vega-Mercado, and Florence Griffith Joyner, aka Flo-Jo, but also serves as a moment of recognition to Alyssa Meeks, the woman presented in the photos.
Not only is she a phenomenal track and field athlete, but she is also a magnificent artist in her own right. Often painting and creating the things that pay tribute to who she is and the world as she knows it.
