SHot on 120mm Film.
All photos so far have been taken with the Mamiya RB67, a medium-format film camera released in 1970.
Follow me on my journey to master a new level of photography. May this act as your motivation to stay curious.
This shoot was me just testing the waters and seeing where I was with this camera. Also my first time pressing the trigger with film in it lol.
I remember thinking I was gonna master this camera before ever shooting it lol. This shoot very much humbled me and I love it for that.
Barely knew how to read the light meter which led to these SUPER warm and bright shots (I think thats the reason).
I remember getting these back and feeling super discouraged because I had a false expectation of what they would look like with no experience on my side. very similar to my first shoot EVER.
Also, this roll was left improperly stored for almost a year, so that probably didn't help the quality lol.
This was my first official shoot with this camera. Things I learned: Make sure the exposed roll is properly sealed and learn to stay as steady as possible.
Prime example to properly seal exposed rolls, cause if not, it leads to light leaks causing your photos to burn.
The double exposure shots were by accident, but I think I still cooked.
Second official shoot. Got a steadier hand (kinda lol). No light leaks. Felt confident in reading light meter.
This Mamiya RB67 is INSANE when you take your time to learn more about it.
Probably my favorite photo as of right now.
Another accidental double exposure.
I love these photos. This was my first time shooting without a light meter and I think I did pretty good.
I also had to color grade these and I also feel like I did a good job on that part too. It took a while but I know I'll get the hang of it eventually.
Shoutout to Kalynn for allowing me to shoot these shots on film. it was good practice and a good way to test new skills.
When I seen this photo, my jaw dropped. The focus, the colors, the composition. Yeah, I cooked and was quite proud of myself for this one.
Back to capturing genuine emotions, no matter the format.
Another amazing portrait.
I left my light meter at home this day, but I always find a way.
I was scared with this photo, because I felt like a lot was riding on it. Group shots are always intimidating especially on a format I am still learning, but glad this came out as great as it did.
This butterfly sat perfectly for this picture. Itzel and I made time for a photo walk, and I finally feel confident using the Mamiya RB67.
Itzel using her new camcorder. I used two different light meters, one from Minolta and another I found on the app store. These settings are from the Minolta.
I'm so sad this shot came out shaky. it was literally the one the came out like this. Must've been nervous lol.
Lovely shot. Shoutout to the colors and the composition.
Finally got a portrait from my Mamiya, courtesy of Itzel. She was a natural.
Again, I love how she shot this so smooth. She 2 for 2 and we love to see it.
I took my camera to the Rose Garden near USC and I'm very pleased with these outcomes. This shot feels like a top three I've shot on this camera.
The color is so beautiful. I didn't think this camera could achieve this amount of color on its own. I'm so proud of these shots.
I finally shot a double exposure on PURPOSE and I love the outcome! I cooked, right??
AFG ATHLETICS: TRACK AND FIELD WAS SUCH A DELIGHT TO SHOOT ON 120.
